Scalp Micro Pigmentation in Newport Beach, CA, Beverly Hills, CA and Las Vegas, NV

A very popular new trend for camouflaging hair loss and concealing scalp scars is scalp micro pigmentation. The procedure involves medical grade tattooing of the scalp to replicate tiny hairs. Micro-dots approximately the size of a ball point pen and the color of the patients’ scalp are meticulously placed in a pattern similar to previous hair density.

This procedure can be used either to fill in between thinning hairs or to add the impression of more hair between transplanted hair.

Scar Camouflage with Scalp Micro Pigmentation?

With scalp micro pigmentation (SMP) can be used for camouflaging many types of hair loss and for some who prefer not to have hair restoration it can used exclusively to create the appearance of very short shaved hair.

Dr. Yazdan has modified his own technology to perform SMP and has often used this procedure to camouflage scalp scars and to correct small areas of alopecia areata.

Occasionally, patients who have had poor donor closures from less experienced hair surgeons have come to our practice with wide donor scars. In some of these cases SMP can be a very effective solution for concealing the donor scar within the remaining hair.

How long does SMP last?

With the modified technology developed by Dr. Yazdan the tattooing will last approximately 3- 5 years.
