The Ins & Outs of Laser Hair Therapy

Millions of people around the world are trying to fight back hair loss, and many of the methods they choose end up taking a lot of time and money while giving nothing in return. That doesn’t mean effective solutions aren’t out there, though. In fact, we’ve found one that could very well be the answer you’ve been looking for.

Allow us to introduce you to laser hair therapy.

While it might sound intense on the face, low level laser therapy, often shortened to LLLT, is anything but. As the name suggests, LLLT involves lasers tuned to a specific low frequency. Dispersed across the area of the scalp, these lasers go off in regular intervals that allow them to nourish the cells that hair follicles need to tap into for oxygen & nutrients. Cell metabolism sees major improvement as a result, and the devastating effects of DHT (a hormone strongly connected to hair loss) are weakened in turn. We can understand if you’re initially skeptical about having lasers surround your scalp, but rest assured that this is a completely safe process with no known side effects, even in the case of those using other hair loss products & medications.

This sort of therapy is often done for people who’ve recently completed a FUE or FUT (a.k.a. “strip”) hair transplant & want to speed up post-op recovery. That being said, anyone qualified to receive medical treatment for hair loss would be considered a candidate for low level laser therapy.

“Wow, that sounds fantastic! But I don’t want to have to go to appointments to get it done.”  We understand that better than anyone, and that’s why we’re excited to tell you that starting laser hair treatment on your own terms is as simple as putting on a hat. No, really. Companies like Capillus have come out with laser therapy devices that fit like any old cap, even allowing you to put your favorite cap on over it without any discomfort.

Now, like we said, there are quite a few companies out there making LLLT products like these, but in our opinion, Capillus stands out as the most effective option. They have three different models you can pick up yourself: there’s the Capillus82, which has 82 lasers dispersed around the scalp area, the Capillus202 that has, well, 202, and lastly the CapillusPro, which has 272. They all work to some degree, but it could take you a long time before you start seeing real results. Then there’s the CapillusRX.

What’s different about it, you ask? Well, instead of stopping at 272, the CapillusRX boasts 312 laser diodes distributed around all parts of the scalp. And even though it’s comparatively packed with diodes, it’s just as easy to wear & use as the other three. By putting on for just six minutes a day, you can experience a world of benefits within months of starting treatment. Besides reversing the process of hair loss in general, this laser therapy cap even works if your hair loss is due to hereditary issues. Whether you’re thinning or balding, or dealing with damaged hair, your mane can end up looking fuller & nourished faster than it would with any other device.

If you’re wondering why we didn’t mention it in the previous list, you should note that those are just the models you can get on your own. In case the “RX” in the product name didn’t clue you in, you can only find this particular laser therapy cap though a physician, especially one at a hair restoration clinic.

Everything that comes with the CapillusRX package.

Well, it just so happens that you can find one of those at Modena Hair Institute in Las Vegas, Newport & Beverly Hills! Dr. Yazdan, a board-certified physician & hair restoration surgeon, has recommended the CapillusRX to many of his patients, and he’s seen nothing but ideal results with regular use. Sure, you can get the standard options sent to your door without dealing with anyone, but that convenience won’t be worth much if you don’t get the best possible results.

Find out if you’re qualified for LLLT & the CapillusRX by reaching out for a consultation today, and be sure to visit our website to learn more about the many ways we can help you restore your hair.

Seven Signs You’re in The Wrong Hair Restoration Clinic

So, you’ve decided you’re ready to get a hair transplant, and all you need to do is figure out where you’re getting it done. A bad hair clinic is the last thing on your mind. These days, you have quite a few options, and we can’t blame you if you’re feeling overwhelmed by your choices. We also know that some of them are more tempting than others, although there are a few things you should know about certain clinics you’ll encounter in your search. To help you avoid damage to your health and hair, we’ve put together a handy list of ways you can tell you’re at the wrong hair restoration clinic.

  • The price seems too good to be true.

Just like any other medical procedure, hair transplants come with a notable price tag, and we can understand why someone would be intrigued by the more affordable competition. However, when the price goes way down, it almost always means they’re cutting corners somewhere. Whether they’re cheaping out on clinic upkeep & equipment, or lacking in other things we’ll discuss in this list, you may very well get a subpar experience that ends in disaster.

  • They see a lot of patients in a short span of time.

If a hair restoration “expert” boasts about being able to perform eight procedures in a single day, you might want to hold back your amazement. Any hair transplant, whether it’s a FUE or FUT procedure, is going to require extremely careful attention to detail, and will take a good amount of the day to successfully perform. If the person running the clinic is having people come in en masse, it’s more than likely that they’re not putting in their full effort & care into each procedure.

  • The facility isn’t exactly clean.

Like any other medical & surgical procedure, a hair restoration procedure needs to happen in clean, sterile conditions. If you notice the office is generally dirty, or find that the tools aren’t stored in the safest & most organized way, the risks are even greater than those that meet the eye. Your chance of infection skyrockets if the operating room isn’t kept in pristine condition, and disorganization around the office is a clear indicator of a clinic’s general lack of professionalism.

A botched hair transplant performed at an outside clinic.
  • The person performing the procedure isn’t a licensed physician.

No matter what those as certain clinics might tell you, having anyone besides a licensed physician performing your hair transplant is extremely ill advised. There’s a lot of medical knowledge that goes into hair restoration, and having someone lacking that knowledge working on your scalp, beard, eyebrows, or any other part of you is the wrong move. It’s not enough for them to be in the room while an assistant does it, either; if there’s any sign that an assistant or technician will be handling the procedure, find the door as fast as you can.

  • They don’t have lengthy experience in hair restoration.

Just being licensed as a physician isn’t enough, though. You’ll want to be sure that your hair restoration surgeon, like Dr. Yazdan at Modena Hair Institute in Newport, Beverly Hills & Las Vegas, has specific experience in performing those procedures. Beyond mere familiarity, he’s extracted over three million grafts across the FUE & FUT procedures he’s performed in his career. There are specific aspects of hair transplant procedures that can only be learned over time, and it should be a priority for you to make sure that the person working on your hair has worked with cases like yours in the past.

  • They lack a diverse array of tools.

As any experienced hair restoration surgeon knows, every patient brings different challenges to the table. With that in mind, a clinic only having a few different tools at their disposal should be a massive red flag for you. Not every tool works for every person, and anyone pushing that sort of one-size-fits-all logic is prioritizing their convenience & bottom line over your hair and health. In contrast, the best hair restoration surgeons you’ll find will have a very wide range of tools to utilize in any given procedure.

  • They market certain tools more than the person using them.

Lastly, in step with the previous point, you should keep a wide distance between you & a clinic that promotes a certain machine or tool like it’s the doctor performing the transplant. Tools assist in getting these procedures done successfully, sure, but the surgeons are the ones doing the actual work. If a clinic shies away from talking about the surgeon in favor of touting their equipment, there’s a real possibility that an unqualified “expert” (or even a technician) is guiding the highly-praised tools & putting you at risk in turn.

When you come to one of Modena Hair Institute’s California or Nevada locations, we promise you’ll be met with nothing but professionals & the highest standards in the industry. We limit ourselves to one procedure a day so we know our patients are properly cared for, and hold our clinics to strict sanitary standards. Dr. Yazdan performs every procedure at Modena, helped by his close & dedicated team of assistants, and the combination of his experience & training means you’ll be in good hands. We keep a strong selection of tools at hand to properly treat individual cases, and we know the tools are only as effective as the hands putting them to use.

Everything You Need to Know About Beard Transplants

Growing a full beard is one of the most appealing and game-changing adjustments you can make to your look, but not everyone has the opportunity. In fact, it’s been reported that almost half of all men deal with uneven & patchy facial hair. A painless beard transplant can be the perfect fix. For a long time, people thought this was an unchangeable constant, and people with problematic beards & mustaches assumed there was no way to fix things. However, modern hair restoration technology has given people a new, clear path to full & even facial hair.

You might already be familiar with the many ways a hair transplant can change someone’s life, but those benefits aren’t only reserved for those with scalp-related issues. Utilizing the same methods that would be used for a standard FUE or FUT procedure, a qualified hair restoration surgeon like Dr. Yazdan can give your beard the consistent & natural look you’ve always wanted.

A beard transplant patient before the start of the procedure.

During the procedure, similar to the typical transplant, the surgeon will obtain the necessary hairs from your donor area (usually the posterior scalp) & create punches in the beard area to accept them. As with any professional procedure like this, a very small punch is used in this process. Dr. Yazdan, for example, uses one with a 0.7mm diameter, which allows for a dense & even grouping of hairs. Once this is done, the surgeon will then carefully place the follicles into their new homes, and voila! The procedure is completely painless when done correctly, and the transplant area will start looking better within an hour of completion.

The patient from the previous image, one hour after procedure completion.

We mentioned earlier that a consistent & natural look comes under the guidance of a qualified surgeon, and you shouldn’t take those words lightly. We understand that hair restoration is pricey, and cheaper options can certainly be tempting. However, If you allow someone without the proper qualifications & experience to perform the transplant, you’re bound to get left with unnatural results at best, and you can expect an infection or inflammation if you’re not so lucky. Instead of saving money on the first procedure & getting it fixed later, make sure you get it done by someone certified to complete the task.

That’s why Dr. Yazdan performs every beard transplant procedure at Modena Hair Institute’s Newport, Las Vegas & Beverly Hills locations. He’s a licensed physician with years of experience performing FUE & FUT transplants, along with a wide range of other procedures, and he’s even been featured on shows like Dr. Phill & The Doctors to discuss his work.

A Quick Guide to Eyebrow Transplants

Until eyebrow care became trendy a few years back, it’s safe to say that many people took theirs for granted, thinking that they’d just stick around forever. And that makes sense, given that eyebrow hair loss isn’t as common as thinning hair around the scalp & beard areas. An eyebrow transplant has become the new way to forever fix facial aesthetics. That being said, there are plenty of people that suffer from thinning eyebrows, and if you’re one of those people, you know just how much it can affect your life.

Besides having to come to terms with painted eyebrows as part of your image, you’ll have to accept them as part of your routine. One woman who was featured on the hit cable show The Doctors discussed her routine, saying it takes an hour out of her day to make her eyebrows appear natural. If that seems like a long time already, think about how it adds up over the years. There has to be another way, right? Turns out, there is! An eyebrow transplant is permanent and simply refreshing.

You might have heard of how FUE and FUT hair transplants (both of which we perform at Modena Hair Institute in Las Vegas, Beverly Hills & Newport) have saved countless people’s hairlines. However, did you know those same technologies can be put to use fixing your eyebrows?

Eyebrow transplant procedures utilize both the follicular unit extraction (FUE) method (when fewer grafts being placed), and the FUT method, also known as either follicular unit transplantation or the “strip” method, when there are more than 2-3,000 grafts.

In brief, during this type of FUE procedure, the hair restoration surgeon will first use an incisional blade to create densely grouped incisions using an outline of your ideal brow shape. From there, they’ll extract donor follicles from the posterior scalp (perhaps the chest or back if the posterior scalp isn’t fit for donation), and conclude the procedure by placing them in the transplant area. When the procedure is performed properly, you can expect your full results to appear around six months after it’s all said & done.

We understand this can be a costly procedure, even when the area being worked on is relatively small, but we feel the need to stress that you get what you pay for with a procedure like this. Sure, there are clinics out there that offer their services for relatively dirt cheap, but it’s very unlikely they’ll have an actual physician working on you, and the likelihood of unnatural results & infection can skyrocket. That’s why you need to make sure you have someone with the proper experience & training performing your entire procedure.

We don’t offer anything less at Modena. Dr. Yazdan, a licensed board certified physician, who has had years upon years of experience as a hair restoration surgeon. He makes sure that your hair is in trained & qualified hands, rather than those of assistants, throughout the procedure.

So what else needs to be said? If your eyebrows have been suffering & you’re ready to make a change, the answer to your problems is just a call away. Be sure to visit our website to learn more about what we offer, and reach out to schedule your consultation today!

How a Hair Transplant Can Help Restore Your Confidence

It’s no secret that a person’s confidence is oftentimes tied to the state of their hair. Many people who end up experiencing hair loss take their hair for granted while they’ve got it, but many of them feel their self-esteem quickly drop once it starts disappearing. Suddenly they don’t feel as youthful as they used to, and they’re not as willing to show off what they’ve got up top. When they don’t look the way they want to, the discomfort they feel in their own skin can affect many other aspects of their life. It’s for that reason many feel a solution to hair loss is about far more than looks.

Cosmetic surgeries have been an accepted & regular part of people’s lives the world over, and hair restoration surgery is certainly no exception. Famous people of all stripes have had transplants done, with Elton John’s being the most notable, and Cristiano Ronaldo even started his own clinic recently (which we’ve discussed in a previous blog post).

As people have seen stars improve their own look, they’ve begun to search out that sort of improvement for themselves. While many have found their way to professional clinics run by experienced hair restoration surgeons, such as Modena Hair Institute in Las Vegas, Beverly Hills & Newport, many others have fallen for the temptation of cheap clinics. As we’ve talked about on this blog before, these clinics often have inexperienced & un-knowledgeable people performing procedures, and all they have to offer you is a damaged scalp & torn-down self-esteem.

We at Modena don’t want to see that happen to anyone. That’s why we dedicate our time & focus to offering our patients world-class care & the best results possible. There are a few ways we’ve optimized our process, but it all comes down to one thing: professionalism.

For one, whether you’re receiving an FUE or FUT transplant at Modena, Dr. Yazdan will be the only one performing the procedure. To give his patients the attention needed to complete a successful transplant, he limits himself to performing one procedure a day. Furthermore, he utilizes his years of experience as a physician & hair restoration surgeon, along with his wide range of specialized tools, to give his patients the most natural & healthy results possible.

When patients can enjoy a natural-looking full head of hair & a healthy scalp, one thing is sure to follow: a major confidence boost. Some might say it’s vain to place that much importance on hair, but there’s little else in the world that feels better than looking in the mirror & feeling 10 or 20 years younger. Sometimes that boost in self-esteem is all someone needs to reach out to the world around them, meet new people, and take their life into their own hands. Whether you’re just thinning out a little bit or well into the balding process, getting an FUE or FUT procedure done by an experienced professional can make all the difference in the world for your self-image. Once you get your hair back & regain control over your look, you’ll be that much closer to becoming your most confident self.

Don’t believe us? Ask one of our many patients who have given testimonials about their transplants. As Ming L. of Newport put it, “At the very least, [Dr. Yazdan’s] work is boosting someone’s confidence and self-esteem, and perhaps allowing someone to hold on to their youth a little while longer. At most, your work is saving someone’s life who was disfigured at the hands of an unethical doctor who didn’t think that a hair transplant was ‘all that big of a deal’.” Kevin F. of Las Vegas was similarly happy with Dr. Yazdan’s work, reflecting on his transplant just six days before & saying, “I look a few years younger already.”

To find out more about how Modena Hair Institute can help you restore your hairline & regain your confidence, visit our website and get in touch with us to schedule a consultation! We’re based in Southern California & Nevada, but we accept patients from all around the world. In fact, we even offer reimbursement packages for those who have to travel more than 50 miles to visit us! You can find out more details about that here.

After the Transplant: Taking Care of Your New Hair

As it goes with any major medical procedure, the long-term success of your hair transplant isn’t guaranteed once the doctor successfully completes the task. Hair transplant care is what we’ll be discussing in today’s article.

You see, while their ability to perform the transplant is objectively crucial, the way you treat the transplanted area on your own time will affect the healing and results in many ways.

Whether you’ve received an FUE or FUT procedure, your work starts the night of the surgery. Since you may experience discomfort for the first 24-72 hours after your procedure, we here at Modena recommend our patients take 800 mg Motrin/Advil (over the counter) at home in case of mild pain.

We also recommend patients avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours after the surgery, as well as steering clear of heavy foods during that time, since over consumption may cause nausea. Instead, we recommend you pick up lighter meals & snacks while drinking plenty of water.

Swelling can be caused by any kind of surgery, and while our patients generally do not experience much of it, we recommend icing (either ice packs or frozen corn/peas are acceptable here) your forehead for 24-48 hours to reduce any potential swelling. You can do this 4-6 times per day for 20 minutes each round. To clarify, do not ice the transplanted area.

There also shouldn’t be any crust, significant pain & discomfort, or heat coming from the transplant area, so make sure to contact the clinic that did the procedure if this begins to occur.

As you might have expected, the process of washing your hair will be something to pay close attention to during the two weeks after your surgery. Firstly, you can’t begin shampooing in general until the day after your post-op appointment. You should only use a gentle stream of water at that point, though, and avoid getting the fingernails involved in any way.

You shouldn’t do any aggressive manipulation with your fingers until at least 7 days have passed, and only start shampooing with gentle circular motions, preferably using groMD shampoo, after a full week has gone by since the hair restoration surgery. After 14 days, though, you can feel free to wash your hair as you usually do.

Starting from the day after the procedure is done, we also highly recommend using a follicle activator spray, such as the one offered by groMD, 3-6 times per day for 2 weeks post-operation.

Another suggestion we give our patients is to sleep laying down on their back.  Some doctors recommend laying up, but we don’t think it makes much of a difference.

We recommend your heart rate shouldn’t get above 100 for a full 14 days after the procedure, so even light exercises like lengthy walks should be limited. As for more intense exercises like swimming, running, climbing & others, we strongly suggest waiting around two weeks. Why, you ask? Well, an increased heart rate means increased pressure around your scalp area, and that means the potential of grafts getting dislodged.

For that same reason, you should also avoid bending too far over (keep your head above your heart) for a good 72 hours.

Sometime, patients who have received this procedure at outside clinics complain of many small pimples that pop up on the head in the first couple months.  This is generally uncommon and a sign of a poor hair transplant procedure. Get yourself evaluated immediately if you find you’re experiencing this, as it can create cysts and infection in the long run.

After any hair restoration procedure, there is a very small possibility of temporary thinning afterward known as Shock Loss. This is generally very uncommon in our practice, and when it does happen, it’s usually less than 5-10% of hair loss in the recipient area.

If a hair transplant is done especially incorrectly, you run the risk of permanent hair loss. This especially occurs when the person doing the procedure uses large incisions to create recipient sites; when they create these large recipient sites, they end up damaging the surrounding follicles, causing irreversible hair loss in turn.

As far as when patients should expect their results to appear, we offer a clear timeline. The hair follicles should begin shedding 1-4 weeks after the transplant takes place. The grafts will start to grow after 3-4 months, and results should start to show after 6 months. Full results can be expected after a year to 18 months.

We know we just gave you a lot of information at once; it won’t all take after you hear it for the first time. We understand that here at Modena. We have offices in Newport Beach, Beverly Hills & Las Vegas where we specialize in FUE and FUT hair restoration  surgery, and we dedicate our time to answering any questions our patients have about the hair transplant process.

When you come in for your procedure at Modena, you can rest assured that you’re in experienced hands. Dr. Yazdan has been performing hair transplants for years, and he’s been featured on popular shows like Dr. Phil & The Doctors to teach people about the science & processes behind these procedures. This expertise, combined with his ability to assist patients after it’s all said & done, means that you can be confident in the health of your new hair for a long, long time.

You can find his offices in Newport & Beverly Hills in California, as well as Las Vegas. Be sure to schedule your consultation today!

Your Main Donor Areas for a Hair Transplant

If you’ve done your fair share of research into hair transplants, you’ve probably heard the phrase “donor area” mentioned here & there. Essentially, this refers to the part of your body where follicles are removed from during the transplant process, so that they may be placed in their new location, whether its your head, beard, eyebrows or chest.

As you begin to plan with the hair transplant expert of your choice, there will be due consideration of where they’ll find the follicles to be donated & relocated. There are a few options available, and it’s important for you to know what happens when each of these spots are selected to be the donor area.

Back of the Scalp

Think of someone you know who’s almost completely bald. Not all the way, but they’re getting there. Where do you see them still having hair? Is it along the sides & back of the head, by any chance?

You making that assumption is no coincidence; the part of your head known as the posterior scalp is usually the last to succumb to baldness. For this reason, that’s the area most commonly selected as the donor area.

Pictured: A properly healed FUE donor area.

The reasoning behind this boils down to three letters: DHT. This is the acronym used to describe a certain hormone in the body that’s widely known to cause hair loss & baldness. For reasons still unknown to experts in the field, the hair on the top of our heads is especially vulnerable to it, and thus becomes the first area of the head to begin on the road to baldness.

The hairs along the posterior scalp, however, are essentially resistant. There also tends to be dense crowds of follicles in those areas as well, especially the back of the scalp. Since they’re extremely similar to the hairs that were growing on top, they can be harvested & placed in the transplant area with no incident.

Beard, Neck, Chest Underarms, Back, and Groin

Even though the back of your head is typically the best donor area, there are a few reasons as to why this might not be the case. For those who have had multiple transplants beforehand, that area might be over harvested & can’t reasonably be exploited again.

In this case, though, it’s entirely possible for someone to have their beard, or other parts of their body such as their chest or groin, used to donate follicles.

If you’re wondering whether these hairs will blend well, the answer depends on how good your doctor is. When Dr. Yazdan performs his hair restoration procedures at Modena’s Beverly Hills, Newport Beach, & Las Vegas offices, he takes his time to understand how different types of hair should be integrated into the scalp, and his placement methods make any differences almost impossible to notice.

When the doctor isn’t properly trained however, the results are unnatural at best & devastating at worst. The rising popularity of hair replacement means that a swarm of amateurs have come onto the scene, willing to curtail attention to detail in order to get your cash in their pocket quicker.

When selecting your hair transplant doctor, make sure that they take due time to closely consider your specific case, making a note of any factors that might come into play.

Here at Modena Hair Institute, we do exactly that. When you consult with Dr. Yazdan, he’ll examine every possible detail of your potential donor areas, and make sure you understand every part of the hair restoration procedure.

Scarring is minimal to non-existent with the specialized, precise tools that Dr. Yazdan uses for his procedures. Regardless of the donor area selected for the procedure, the healing process is far quicker than it would be after a transplant done at a run-of-the-mill discount clinic.

How a Cheap Transplant will Cost More in the Long Run

Given the current state of medicine, we understand why people want to save money everywhere they possibly can. The price of a typical hair replacement surgery is understandably prohibitive, and we understand that the promises made by discount clinics can be tempting. A cheap hair transplant is one of the tragedies of modern medicine history

However, you need to understand that their procedures are cheap for a reason. Whether it’s because they’re inexperienced, working with inadequate tools, overbooking their schedule, or letting assistants perform critical parts of the surgery, they’re always cutting costs somewhere. You won’t pay as much money in that moment, but we’d argue the price of going the cheap route increases from the moment the procedure is over.

The first way you end up paying is with your scalp. One only need to search for images of botched hair transplants online to see the consequences of anything less than expert care & attention. Scarring, infections, and more are common for patients of inexperienced surgeons & their assistants, and ingrown grafts resulting from these procedures will need a whole other operation to be removed.

Pictured: A botched procedure performed at an outside clinic.

That brings us to the second way you pay: money. Even though you might have gone to a cheaper clinic to save a few bucks, you’ll likely have to pay as much as you would have for a professional FUE or FUT hair transplant just to fix what they did to you. That being said, there’s no guarantee that hair restoration surgeon would be able to fix it for you. If you have insufficient donor areas or other insurmountable issues with your scalp, there’s simply nothing they can do but turn you away.

Furthermore, consider what your life would be like living with a botched hair transplant. It’s the third way you pay for a cheap transplant: your self-esteem. Hair loss & baldness are big enough confidence killers, but walking around with a scarred or infected scalp can be downright torture to those self-conscious of their appearance.

Pictured: Successful procedure performed by Dr. Yazdan.

With all of that in mind, you’re likely wondering how you can tell whether the hair restoration clinic you’re visiting will get the job done right. Thankfully, there are a few key ways you can figure this out for yourself.

For instance, here at Modena Hair Institute, located in Newport, Beverly Hills & Las Vegas, Dr. Yazdan limits his schedule to one procedure per day. This allows him the necessary time to properly perform a successful hair restoration surgery, unlike cheaper clinics that will book 2, 3 or more patients in one day & fail to give them true attention. Along with offering patients his time, he also gives them his full attention. Dr. Yazdan is the only person that performs hair restoration surgeries at all three of the Modena clinics, having his assistants handle appropriate tasks in the process instead of the procedures themselves.

Perhaps most importantly, he has the experience & knowledge to make sure he gets the job done right. You should always make sure that the person performing your hair restoration procedure, whether it be an FUE or FUT transplant, is a licensed medical professional with experience in these types of surgeries. That’s exactly what Dr. Yazdan is, and he utilizes that experience to make sure all his patients walk out of the door looking younger & feeling more confident than ever before.

Remember, going for the cheap option when it comes to an important medical procedure is never a good idea. You spend less money in that moment, but you end up paying far more in the long run, physically, financially & emotionally. Make sure you get it done right the first time, and make sure a real professional is taking care of your hair.

Why FUT Procedures are Still Valid in the Era of FUE

Over the past few years, the hype behind FUE procedures has been nothing short of overwhelming. If you aren’t too caught up on the development of hair transplant technology, this procedure eliminates a key issue people have had with the traditional method: the scar. Yet an FUT hair transplant remains a powerful option for certain candidates

To give some context, this method, known as the FUT procedure, involves taking a strip of the scalp from the back of the head, dissecting the follicles from it, and placing those in the problem areas on the patient’s head, creating more hair density and fullness to help them look younger and gain back their confidence.

This, of course, can end up leaving a small scar in the back of the scalp, although novice performers of the procedure can end up leaving larger & uneven scars due to a general lack of training & inexperience with the procedure.

Even when it’s minimal, those who wear their hair short will end up with a slight visible mark along their head, and we can understand why they would want to avoid that fate. For them, the FUE procedure, which we offer at Modena’s Southern California & Nevada locations, is a game-changer.

Breaking it down to basics, the doctor performing this will use a small circular blade called a punch to create individual incisions around each hair follicle, extracting the follicles from the donor area by hand. From there, the doctor creates the recipient sites on the patient’s scalp where those will eventually be transplanted.

What’s essential in all this, however, is that a doctor performs the procedure, not their technicians. Furthermore, the doctor needs to be capable of performing the surgery with many different instruments and devices, as not one device is compatible with every patient.

The other determinant of their success is the quality and size of the instruments the surgeon uses during the procedure. FUE can be done with different size punches ranging from 0.7mm all the way to 1.5mm. When a small diameter punch is used, such as Dr. Yazdan’s 0.7 millimeter punch, they can precisely harvest follicles from the donor area with minimal trauma to the surrounding follicles. Furthermore, harvesting small grafts allows them to be placed closer in the hairline to create a more dense & natural-looking procedure, while allowing the patient to heal much quicker.

When a large punch is used, it creates too wide of a hole, increasing healing time in the donor zone, while the end result is a larger graft that requires a larger recipient site to be created. This can lead to unnatural results & a delayed healing process.

Regardless of the procedure you want done, Modena Hair Institute has offices in Beverly Hills, Newport Beach, and Las Vegas which specialize in both FUE and FUT procedures. Dr. Yazdan performs these transplants himself at all three practices, using the smallest punches and the most advanced technologies available. His surgical team and staff has been the same for past 7 years, and their teamwork has resulted in real results for countless patients.

It seems, then, that getting an FUE procedure done by a professional is the only way to get this procedure done! Why bother with the strip method at all?

Well, we wouldn’t be so hesitant to knock down the traditional way of doing things. For starters, the FUE method doesn’t necessarily work for everyone.

If you need more than 2,000 grafts, or even 3,000-4,000, your other option would be to opt for the strip procedure. With the FUT transplant procedure, the doctor is generally able to obtain a larger number of grafts, reducing the need for the patient to undergo a 2nd surgery.

For patients undergoing the FUT procedure, especially those who need a larger number of grafts, we recommend you wear your hair a little longer in the donor zone, that way the small scar would never be seen. Besides that, we imagine you’d prefer to have one surgery that offers the maximum results. We also generally recommend the FUT method for women seeking hair restoration, as the FUE method requires the back of the scalp to be shaved.

How To Stop a Receding Hairline

One day, you’re simply minding your own business when you take a quick glance in the mirror.

However, that quick glance turns into a second glance which turns into an entire internal monologue berating the passage of time and the genes you were not so blessed to have inherited. The days of full, thick hair are behind you and have been replaced with something sparse and patchy. Although you have used your older brother’s and father’s heads as a crystal ball for your hair loss future, it never hit you until now that this is now your reality.

Receding hairlines can be difficult to accept and deal with. Whether time has just flown by too quickly or you’re genetically predisposed to male pattern hair loss, it’s normal to pine for the luscious locks of your youth. Unfortunately, hair loss is one of the starkest changes that comes with age. Yet, despite that over 66% of American men over the age of 35 deal with this problem, the taboo nature of this topic makes many men still hesitant to discuss their struggles.

However, the medical community has tirelessly fought to develop effective methods to both restore and improve the appearance of male pattern baldness. With the assistance of medical technology developments and cutting-edge techniques, there is now no longer a need to keep struggling with hair loss. Both short-term and long-term options are available depending on your needs and desired results.

Scalp Micropigmentation
Take the more unorthodox route with scalp micropigmentation. This short-term procedure is ideal for those with thinning hair. Mimic the appearance of more voluminous locks by tattooing the scalp and hairline with tiny hair-like strokes. These hair-like strokes are created to mimic the natural color and density of your hair. Although scalp micropigmentation produces immediately visible results, it takes about three to four sessions for the best outcome. Your “hair tattoo” may last for about 3-5 years.

Hair Transplant Surgery
If you’re looking for a more permanent solution to your hair loss, consider taking the surgical route at Modena Hair Institute. Hair transplant surgery is the most permanent and effective treatment to restore both your hair and your confidence. This procedure works by extracting hair follicles–either individually or in strips–from a donor area of the scalp where hair is still growing, such as the back and sides. Then, the harvested hair follicles are transplanted to the areas of your scalp affected by hair loss. Although this procedure can take upwards of 6 hours to complete, the slow and steady process is worth the wait. Permanent hair growth begins only 2-3 months post-surgery while significant growth will be visible around the 6-month mark. Most men will regain their full heads of hair around 9-12 months. However, for the best results, surgery must be accompanied by hair loss preventing drugs like minoxidil and finasteride.

Dr. Yazdan Attends FUE Conference in Manchester, UK

FUE Europe hosts 8th Annual Congress in the UK, June 6-8, 2019
Long standing ISHRS member and board-certified physician, Dr. Amir Yazdan of Modena Hair Institute, attended this year’s conference both to share his innovations in follicular unit extraction (FUE) and to keep up with all important advancements in the field.

The goal of the prestigious FUE Europe Congress is to contribute to the education and improvement of each and every medical professional that desires to be active in field of hair transplant, as well as non-invasive techniques.

The conference included many internationally recognized keynote speakers covering an array of topics including hair biology, innovative diagnostic approaches, novel surgical techniques, body hair transplantation, and more.

This conference demonstrates that the FUE surgical community has tirelessly fought to develop effective methods to both restore and improve the appearance of male pattern baldness. With the assistance of medical technology developments and cutting-edge techniques, there is now no longer a need to keep struggling with hair loss. Both short-term and long-term options are available depending on your needs and desired results.

The Bald Truth with Spencer Kobren
Alongside the many lectures, activities, and experimental modules hosted at the FUE Europe Congress, Dr. Yazdan made a guest appearance on The Bald Truth with Spencer Kobren. The two discussed the history, present state and future of ethical hair transplantation. Most importantly, they talked about running a hair transplant clinic the right way and making consumer advocacy the top priority, as poor transplants by greedy practices have besmirched the good name of the industry.

Consumers experiencing hair loss or pattern baldness will tragically rush into whatever hair restoration clinic sounds most appealing or which drives the best bargain. Unbeknownst to them, these so-called hair restoration ‘specialists’ either have little experience or use automated machines that lack precision and artistic execution. This effectively means that patients act as guinea pigs for trainees who are operating machines that can barely execute a decent job. Operations of the aforementioned kind often result in gross, botched, or unnatural-looking hairlines.

GroMD Sponsorship
We are proud to mention that Dr. Yazdan’s own hair restoration formula brand, GroMD, helped to fund the 8th annual conference and support many of the learning modules on site. We hope that GroMD will continue to support the building of an ethical and intellectually rigorous hair transplant culture.

Is It Time for a Second Hair Transplant?

second hair transplant
Perhaps the single biggest fear hair transplant patients have is continued hair thinning five, ten or twenty years down the line. We deal closely with hair loss patients in Orange County, Las Vegas and Beverly Hills to tackle this exact problem.
The art and science of hair transplantation has reached such aesthetic and technical success over the last few years, that many may have forgotten to take precautions concerning future follicle miniaturization and loss.
While hair transplants can and do provide excellent restorative results by adding incredible thickness and volume to the scalp, it must be understood that it does not treat the causes of hair loss. Hair loss is not the result of hair disappearing suddenly, rather, it occurs slowly and develops progressively in stages. Hair grows thinner each time a hair sheds and enters the growing phase and with every cycle the hair continues to miniaturize, until finally disappearing.
Most people are unaware that up to 30% of male hair transplant patients end up having a second procedure done. This is because while the transplanted hair from the first procedure remains permanent, men can carry on losing their natural hair, resulting in gaps and prominently thinning areas.
As such, there are situations where a second hair transplant session is both important and necessary.
For many men and women who enjoy the great aesthetic highs of a successful hair transplant, they can be caught off guard by what to do with future hair thinning. Being in close contact with a great hair restoration specialist is very important here. Your doctor will assess the balding parts on the scalp and begin to plan just how to restore your natural hairline and combat those receding areas with skill and far sight.
Others may consider a second hair transplant not because of any great bout of thinning or loss, but because of a desire to add more grafts (density) and cover the thinning areas better. Since there is a logistical limit to just how many donor follicles one may successfully transplant during a first operation, it may be wise to return 10 months later for a follow up procedure.
Finally, hair transplant patients will do well to mind other very strong non-surgical options which can keep their hair strong, retentive and thick. There is medical management of hair loss that may include stimulants to encourage hair growth and topical solutions which can thicken your hair. Hair restoration shampoos like GroMD can help reduce shedding and protect and nourish the scalp. Other options include platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, a breakthrough non-surgical hair restoration treatment that has been known to stimulate cell regrowth and significantly reduce hair loss patterns.

Why You Should Visit a Hair Restoration Clinic

hair restoration clinic
If you’ve thought about or are experiencing hair loss, perhaps you’ve wondered how best to proceed. The International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons (IAHRS) is a perfect place to begin your search to find the most qualified hair restoration doctors in your area. The IAHRS does not offer open membership, rather the organization selectively screens skilled and ethical hair transplant surgeons.
But you may be wondering, what can a specialist in hair restoration really help with?
Locate the Source of the Problem
While going to your local hair transplant surgeon to combat your hair loss is a good way to begin treating your symptoms, it may take a while to truly pinpoint what is causing the problem. At Modena Hair Institute, for example, we know which tests can best help show the cause of your hair loss and can personalize your care more quickly.
A Variety of Treatment Options
Another big benefit of going to a hair restoration clinic – instead of a regular dermatologist – is that there are more effective treatment options to choose from. Many suppose that they have to go straight to a surgical option when choosing hair loss restoration treatment. Our Modena offices in Orange County, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas offer a variety of surgical and non-surgical treatment options to provide the best outcomes possible for our patients. We will discuss every option in detail – will you need medical management, PRP therapy, laser therapy, hair transplantation, or something else?
A Small Team of Skilled Specialists
Our clinic is made up of highly skilled and technically savvy hair restoration practitioners. Many larger hair restoration clinics outsource for medical technicians, which usually results in higher turnover rates. At Modena, we limit our staff size in order to maximize skill and technique.
Dr. Amir Yazdan is certified by the International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons, which is one of the only institutions that carefully screens and qualifies surgeons in the field. Call Modena Hair Institute today to schedule a consultation. During your visit, we will discuss your symptoms, any family history of hair loss, and suggest next steps for treatment. Call us today and learn how we can help you achieve results!

Differences in Male & Female Baldness and Ways to Combat It Effectively

pattern baldness
It’s commonly known that baldness affects men, but there are also many women who experience baldness as well. What is the difference between male and female pattern baldness? What are the treatment options for the sexes? Men and women may experience it in different ways.
Pattern baldness
Women can lose their hair in a different pattern than men do. In men, hair loss starts in the front of the head and recedes to the back until they are bald. Women are not as likely to go completely bald, but could have a lot of thinning throughout.
Causes
Like male pattern baldness, female pattern baldness is hereditary, but the cause is different. It is most common after menopause, so hormones are likely responsible for pattern baldness in women. In women, baldness can also be caused by an underlying endocrine condition or a hormone-secreting tumor.
Progression and Onset
Males tend to lose their hair at a faster rate and have an earlier average age of onset than women do. For both men and women, however, the best way to treat and counteract pattern baldness is early detection and treatment.
Pattern Baldness Prevention and Treatment
Women
Based on a woman’s medical diagnosis and consultation with a hair restoration specialist, medical management of hair loss or transplant surgery will be the solution, yet sometimes both are advised. We may recommend over-the-counter minoxidil (Rogaine) to be applied in tandem with groMD shampoo and conditioner to patients experiencing thinning of hair.
More drastic hair loss cases where women exhibit balding or a gap widening on the topmost part of their scalp may require more advanced hair restoration treatments such as an FUE or FUT hair transplant.
Another hair restoration treatment that has been achieving excellent results for women suffering from temple recession and other hair loss conditions for years is called Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy. The PRP procedure involves drawing a small amount of blood from the patient’s body and processing it in a centrifuge in order to extract a rich plasma serum.
This serum is then injected into the recipient site on the top of the scalp of the patient. PRP is loaded with growth factors that promote rapid angiogenesis, localized cell growth, decrease inflammation and decrease healing time. Quick healing time is important because it allows patients to return to work and their daily activities in a very short period of time.
Dr. Yazdan explains that “with the employment of PRP and added nutrients like Acell, I have seen accelerated healing, reduced swelling and stimulation of thinning hair. I like to use this in every hair restoration surgery because it often gives patients the absolute best results.”
Men
We recommend sitting down with a (board certified) hair restoration specialist who can properly evaluate your hair shedding or hair loss situation, based on factors like your medical profile, hair loss condition, and stage of shedding.
The initial consultation will be to see how your hairline and hair density has changed and will change in the next few years. Forecasting how your receding hairline or shedding patterns change will grant you and the physician a better understanding of the effectiveness of different hair restoration treatments, be they surgical or otherwise. The key to slowing hair loss is early intervention.
Dr. Yazdan may recommend PRP injections mixed with stem cells, alongside a multifaceted program to treat hair thinning and loss.
If the diagnosis is early genetic hair loss, then the best treatment may be the drug finasteride which is highly effective in men of younger age. It may not only stop the hair loss but possibly reverse it.

PRP Hair Loss Prevention Program

hair loss prevention
One of the most fascinating things about studying hair loss and hair restoration is that new discoveries are being made almost every day. From new surgical techniques and equipment to improved hair transplantation results to advanced non-surgical hair maintenance treatments that can help prevent patients from losing hair early in life, Dr. Amir Yazdan at The Modena Hair Institute has been at the forefront of hair restoration research. In that time, he has had the opportunity to experiment with many different treatment methods – one of the most exciting and versatile he has found is the use of platelet rich plasma, or PRP, which relies on the natural healing properties of a patient’s own blood to significantly improve both surgical and non-surgical hair restoration results.
How Does Platelet Rich Plasma Work?
The blood in your body is made up of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, which are small, disk-shaped cell fragments that facilitate clotting, promote tissue regeneration, and secrete growth factors that initiate cell regrowth. Platelet rich plasma is created by spinning a sample of the patient’s own blood in a centrifuge to separate out a concentrated solution of platelets and plasma components. Platelet rich plasma contains approximately five to seven times the number of platelets found in normal circulating blood along with bioactive proteins that aid in wound healing and is frequently used to help speed the recovery of patients who have suffered from sports injuries and other forms of trauma.
The Amazing Results of PRP
At Modena Hair Institute in Orange County, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas, we use platelet rich plasma in one of two ways. First, platelet rich plasma serves as an excellent, nutrient rich transport material for donor follicles that are harvested during follicular unit grafting or follicular unit extraction (FUE) surgical hair transplantation procedures. By keeping these follicles in a healthy state we can significantly improve their survival rate and overall hair transplant results.  Moreover, our research has found that injecting concentrated PRP directly into the patient’s scalp can increase both the size and healthiness of hair follicles that have begun to shrink as a result of androgenetic alopecia, or common genetic pattern baldness.  This means that injections of platelet rich plasma can create thicker looking hair by promoting growth if the dormant follicles, slow the progression of some forms of hair loss, and help maintain hair transplantation results.
Every patient and every case of hair loss is unique, so platelet rich plasma is not necessarily the right treatment for everyone.  At Modena Hair Institute we carefully diagnose the nature of your hair loss so that we can create a customized treatment plan that is right for you.
Commonly asked questions about Platelet Rich Plasma Treatments:
Q: How long does it take to recover from PRP?
A: Most PRP patients can continue their daily activities immediately following the injections.
Q: How long does it take for PRP to take effect?
A: We recommend a set of three initial treatments that are each six weeks apart, followed by a repeat treatment one year after the first to achieve the best results.
Q: Can PRP grow new hair?
A: PRP has proven effective as a standalone treatment for patients with specific types of hair loss, particularly for genetic pattern hair loss and some forms of traction alopecia. It has even been effective with some cases of alopecia areata, eyebrow hypertrichosis, and chronic telogen effluvium.
Q: How long does a PRP treatment session take?
A: Each treatment generally takes less than an hour.
Q: What are the side effects of platelet rich plasma therapy treatments?
A: Side effects are minimal, with the most common being some pain with the injection, pinpoint bleeding, and redness at the site of injection. Less common, but always a risk with any type of injection treatment, are injury to blood vessels or nerves, infection, calcification at the injection points, and scar tissue.

When Is It Time to See a Hair Loss Doctor?

As is the case with many health issues, most people start on the road of proactive action only after significant symptoms begin to appear. Hair loss is no different. Given the very gradual and subterranean (hidden) nature of hair loss, many men and women who find excessive amounts of hair shedding on their pillow or in the shower simply chalk it up to an abnormal occurrence, and not something indicative of future loss.

Over the last decade at our hair clinics across California and Nevada, we’ve come across thousands of patients who all tell the same story: although I noticed excessive shedding and hair follicle miniaturization, I felt blindsided by the extent of my hair loss.

Nutritional deficiencies, high stress levels, unhealthy lifestyle choices, traumatizing hair care regiments and genetic disorders are all common causes of hair loss and pattern baldness. The average hair loss sufferer has little to no background knowledge of the causes and origin of his or her hair loss, and so is helpless in their road to aesthetic restoration.

If you are noticing hair miniaturization at the temples, thinning of the crown or just lots of general shedding, it’s imperative that you correctly answer the question: ‘what is the cause behind my hair loss?’ For the wrong treatment or action taken towards treating hair loss could further the damage or pose unnecessary health risks. As such, if you are noticing signs of abnormal hair loss, you’ll want to contact a board-certified hair restoration surgeon as soon as possible.

Control and Prevent: Medical Management

Once you’ve set up your first consultation with your hair loss doctor, expect to receive a brief biographical and physiological examination. Many think that they have to go straight to a surgical option when choosing a hair loss restoration treatment, but an experienced and reputable hair loss doctor will exhaust all non-surgical options first before recommending more invasive solutions.

Usually if your hair is thinning, the doctor will like to start you on a medical management regiment. Your doctor may recommend taking biotin, iron or other supplements, or massaging 5 percent minoxidil into your scalp once daily. With many younger patients, Dr. Amir Yazdan recommends “combining over-the-counter minoxidil treatments (Rogaine) with GroMD shampoo and Follicle Activator Spray as well as Nizoral shampoo has shown impressive results in hair regrowth and density”.

Hair Transplant

Depending on the severity and extent of your hair loss, going in for a hair transplantation may be the strongest and most effective solution. Medical management of hair loss is important, but it’s objective is to control current hair thinning and prevent further loss, not grant you a new hair line. A hair transplant, on the other hand, can give you that life changing hair line that you desire and restore any ailing confidence. A good hair restoration surgeon, working alongside the patient’s aesthetic goals, will identify the best areas on the scalp for transplantation and touch up. Flawless artistic design is as important as technical precision when it comes to a successful hair transplant, so make sure you ask to see past results or testimonials.

The two types of hair transplant are the follicular unit extraction (FUE) and follicular unit transplant (FUT or Strip Procedure). The former procedure involves the use of a micro-punch circular blade that individually harvests follicles from the donor area and places them into the desired areas. FUE has come to be seen as the gold standard of hair transplantation due to the extreme precision, fragility, complexity involved, and its ability to consistently deliver natural looking results. The latter procedure – FUT – involves the surgical transplantation of a strip of donor hair from the back of the scalp. From the donor strip, naturally occurring follicular units, usually groups of 1-4 hairs, are dissected into natural groupings under a microscope to preserve every follicle and then transplanted into the desired regions.

There are indeed other options to consider as well, such as platelet-rich-plasma therapy, scalp micropigmentation and Low-Level Laser therapy.

At our hair restoration clinics in Orange County, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas, we prioritize long term hair restoration results over quick fix procedures. We develop life-long relationships with our patients, many of whom return for advice and friendly consultation once a year, because we care about real life-changing results.

Hair Transplants Can Change Lives – As Long as You Find a Credible Surgeon

Cosmetic procedures have always been a rather private and personal affair. Yet some cosmetic procedures are much more well known and publicly acknowledged than others. Rhinoplasty, rhytidectomy (wrinkle treatment) and breast augmentation are some the most well known; while hair transplantation, for many, appears mysterious and suspicious.
The truth is however, that hair transplantation – as a surgical science and cosmetic art – has made incredible advancements over the last two decades. Follicular unit extraction, or FUE, in particular, has progressed to be able to produce aesthetically flawless and natural looking results. Our patients have arrived at our doorstep with devastated hairlines only to leave with restored confidence and a new sense of self. Empowering and life-changing results are common and very much possible.
These hair restoration results are so consistently successful that even mega sports star Cristiano Ronaldo has opened his own clinic. According to popular reports, “the clinic will employ 150 people and perform an average of 18 transplants each day, ranging from services such as beard and eyebrows treatment. His girlfriend Georgina is also set to become one of the clinic’s managers.”
One cannot help but suspect that quantity is being prioritized over quality.
Moreover, such exceptional results are only possible when executed by an ethical, patient-focused, experienced and expert hair transplant surgeon. Yet a slew of non-specialist clinics have opportunistically sought to seize a growing share of the market.
What Problems Can Arise from Non-Specialist Clinics?
Unnatural looking results. As our opening picture captures, non-specialty clinics will almost always tend towards being profit-centered. This means that ‘getting the job done’ will often take priority over ‘getting the job done right‘. With such an emphasis on quantity and financial take-away, clinics run by technicians will consistently fail to produce a natural-looking hairline, one that takes into account the myriad idiosyncrasies of the patient.
Also, not everyone experiencing hair loss is a proper candidate for a hair transplant. An ethical clinic run by an experienced hair restoration doctor knows that transplantation is only part of the story, and a truly patient-focused ethos will demand that other options and hair restoration programs be considered before hair transplantation is recommended.
Unlike other common medical issues, hair loss is not a static ailment that can be treated and cured in one fell swoop. It is a progressive and life-long phenomenon that requires diligent oversight and consistent monitoring.
For this reason, all of our patients at Modena Hair Institute are provided a tailored hair loss prevention plan. One which takes into account their medical history, age, skin type, hair type and other essential variables.
At our hair restoration clinics in Orange County, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas, we prioritize long term hair restoration results over quick fix procedures. We develop life-long relationships with our patients, many of whom return for advice and friendly consultation once a year, because we care about real life-changing results.

Stress and Hair Loss: How to Treat Telogen Effluvium

There is strong research linking stress and hair loss. Telogen effluvium, a form of temporary hair loss characterized by diffuse thinning of the hair often caused by stress, disrupts your three natural hair growth patterns – anagen, catagen, telogen.
There seems to be more and more stress on men and women these days, and these growing levels of anxiety are causing more people to seek treatment for their hair loss.
So how exactly does stress cause hair loss? Fortunately, if you are only experiencing low levels of stress, you are not going to lose your hair because of it. Hair loss caused by stress comes from a larger stressful experience or incident.
There is also not just one factor of why stress can cause hair loss, but is actually a combination or several factors. When you are under a great deal of stress, your body produces more adrenaline and any excess adrenaline that your body does not use is converted into cholesterol. When you have raised levels of cholesterol, it increases your level of testosterone. For people with a sensitivity to testosterone, it can negatively impact their hair follicles.
Your immune system can suffer if you are feeling stress or anxiety, and this makes you more susceptible to getting an illness or an infection. This can impact your hair’s growth cycle, since the average person has 90% of their hair in the growing cycle, which will usually last a few years before it goes into a resting stage and then falls out. On average, people lose 100 hairs each day, but if your hair’s growing cycle is disrupted, it can cause more hairs than usual to go into the resting phase, and can also cause a lot of hair to fall out all at once.
This will usually happen around two months after a stressful event or an illness. Many women experience mild hair loss following pregnancy. Most people who suffer from this type of hair loss only experience temporary hair loss and their hair will usually resume its normal growth cycle once they alleviate the cause of their stress. Once you have gotten rid of your stress, you should notice significant improvements in your overall health, in addition to your hair growth.
If you have already started to notice thinning hair or bald spots, if you continue to look at your hair in the mirror to check if it has gotten worse, you will only be adding to your stress. There are excellent hair loss treatments available at Modena Hair Institute that can restore your confidence, such as follicular unit extraction (FUE) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
PRP works by stimulating newly implanted or inactive hair follicles into an active growth phase. Modena Hair Institute in Orange County, Las Vegas and Beverly Hills offers a highly advanced version of PRP therapy that is enhanced with a one-of-a-kind propriety protein called Acell. This procedure can stop hair thinning and increase hair count, thickness, and growth speed.
With FUE transplant surgery, Dr. Amir Yazdan removes donor hair follicles from the sides and back of the scalp and relocates them on the top of the scalp where the hair loss has occurred. Dr. Yazdan uses micro-incisions to create sites to place each individual follicular unit, which will grow into a natural, undetectable pattern over the next year.
