Modena Hair Transplant Opens New Office in Beverly Hills

Modena Hair Offers FUE in Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills, California (December 28, 2017) -Modena Hair Transplant, a leading provider of Hair Restoration, today announced that they recently opened a branch office located in Beverly Hills, CA, adjacent from the prestigious Rodeo Drive shopping district accommodating hair transplantation services to the greater Los Angeles region.
Plans to develop operations in Beverly Hills, CA were initiated by the growth of their Orange County locations and the fact that there has been a vast pandemonium of botched procedures occurring worldwide by doctors attempting to do it ‘on the side’ which has brought both men and women to their medical offices for reconstructive hair transplant surgery. Modena Hair Transplant will now be able to better meet the needs of Los Angeles locals as well as making the location an excellent hub for all Dr. Yazdan’s patients that travel from across the world for his expertise in restoring hair loss.
“The opening of Modena Hair Transplant’s new Beverly Hills office is an important step forward as the demand continues to expand,” said Dr. Yazdan M.D at Modena Hair Institute. “The new office will be the first of many important changes for the company in 2018 and we are beyond thrilled to start providing patients in the Los Angeles area with both FUE and Strip Hair Transplant Surgery.”
As a long-standing member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, Dr. Yazdan is one of the world’s leading medical authorities on hair loss and hair restoration. He is trained in all the latest methods and technology of Hair Transplant procedures using techniques and tools not found in any other clinic in the world.
His specialized training and experience prompted Dr. Yazdan to establish the Modena Hair and Laser Institute in 2011, where he offers a spectrum of services related to hair loss in men and women. Furthermore, his advanced artistry and always staying ahead of the curve has landed him the roll of being chief medical consultant for LA Weekly and a consultant on major television shows such as the Dr. Phil show and The Doctors.

Can I trust a Robot to do my Hair Transplant?

You’re elated on the idea of having that thick youthful head of hair you always dreamed of and are ready to take the next step, but..
You may want to think twice before finding a surgeon who relies on a robot to do most of the work!
If you’ve done your research, you may have heard of physicians using a newer technology called the “Artas”. The Artas is a robotic machine claiming to provide speed and accuracy beyond manual techniques from your surgeon. WRONG. This is the less accurate way of doing things and unfortunately, it’s resulting in more and more Corrective Hair Transplants. Here’s what they’re not telling you..
-Its punch size is much larger in diameter leaving you with larger incisions and scars on the back of your head which can result in delayed healing and more trauma if not sparing nearby hair follicles.
-Larger grafts also mean larger recipient sites to be made, therefore not allowing the grafts to be as compact as they would with smaller grafts.
-The Artas creates a deeper score which has been known to bury grafts and likely cause cyst formation.
-An experienced FUE surgeon can expect a graft survival rate of around 90% while the Artas may have a much lower survivability. Based on our experience we’ve seen the survivability as low as 20% from the Artas under the use of inexperienced staff.
-The device can be set to target 3-4 hair grafts. Doctors have been known to cut and split these grafts, artificially increasing the number of grafts while minimizing the cost paid to Artas as the doctor pays per graft.
-The Artas has restrictions. One instrument and one device won’t work on 100% of the population. In fact, only 30-40% of patients are candidates for the procedure, so your doctor needs to have alternate techniques and tools for a proper FUE transplant. Thus, on the day of your surgery your surgeon needs a backup method of extracting the grafts so they’re not being permanently damaged.
-While Robotic hair transplants sounds pretty advanced and futuristic, it’s just another way a less experienced doctor can set up shop doing hair transplants amongst other services they already provide.
Conclusion? There are still too many limitations and refinements needed of the Artas to even come close to what a skilled physician can accomplish with the delicate touch of human hands and artistic craft for natural looking results. I would recommend people considering hair transplant surgery to find a skilled surgeon whom has many instruments to perform FUE.
If your Hair Transplant has been botched by the Artas robot and need Corrective hair transplant give us a call today. With Offices located in Beverly Hills, Orange County, and Las Vegas we specialize in hair transplant repair.

Does the hair transplant surgeon matter when it comes to hair transplant results?

While California has many hair transplant surgeons to choose from, people living in other states aren’t so lucky. Some individuals may find they are lucky to even find just 1 reputable and experienced hair transplant surgeon in their area.
As a result, they may be wondering just how important the hair surgeon is to actual hair transplant results. After all, all hair transplants require the same basic steps of extracting and placing grafts, right? Unfortunately, no. Hair transplants can be a quite complicated procedure that requires expertise in order to achieve desirable results.
If the surgeon in your area leaves much to be desired when it comes to prove hair transplant results, it may be in your best interest to consider traveling for a reputable surgeon. Many consultations can be done via email with pictures or videochat. And while you may pay a little extra in travel expenses, it can be considered an investment in a quality hair transplant.
Here at Modena, many of our patients travel to us from all over the world. We understand the value of making the right choice when it comes to results and medical procedures, so we offer competitive travel perks for our out-of-town guests.
If you’d like to learn more about the value of having an experienced hair surgeon perform your hair transplant, give us a call today.

How often should you cut your hair

Many individuals wonder exactly how far they should go in between haircuts. While it may be easy for men to determine when they need a cut (shorter hair shows unruliness quicker), it’s not as easy for women or those with longer hair. And while men may be able to slip quickly into the barber shop, women often need to know far in advance (before they need the cut) in order to get booked with their stylist. So, how do you determine how often should you cut your hair?
If you ask your stylist, they’ll likely say ‘it depends.’ While this is true information, it doesn’t do much in the way of helping you pre-book an appointment. What ‘it depends’ on is hair goals, length of hair, hair growth rate, and health of hair. Typical time in between cuts ranges from 4-16 weeks. Below we break down some of the factors that influence time between cuts so you can determine the best frequency for you.
Hair goals – if your goal is to grow your hair, you’ll want to go longer in between cuts. This will allow your hair more time to grow in between cuts. But don’t neglect the cuts completely! Your hair needs to be in prime health to grow as it should.
Hair growth – if your hair grows quickly, you’ll need to get it cut more often. If it grows slowly, you can get away with more time in between cuts. Get to know your hair and experiment with different times in between cuts to determine the best for you.
Hair health – if you’re in the process of bringing your damaged hair back to life, you’ll need cuts more often. Its imperative for you to keep those dead and damaged ends to a minimum, as leaving them can spread them up the hair strand. Utilize conditioning treatments in between cuts to help keep your hair in prime health.

Help! My transplanted grafts are falling out. Is this normal?

Many individuals feel great alarm in the time after their hair transplant surgery when they see that their transplanted hairs are falling out. Is this natural? Is this a sign that surgery was unsuccessful? Below we address what is normal and what is not, and when you should actually be alarmed.
It is important to note that there is a difference between graft shedding and grafts falling out. It can be hard to tell the difference between the two, but graft shedding is when the newly transplanted hairs fall out naturally within a few days to a few weeks post-surgery. Grafts falling out is when the entire hair follicle has fallen out of its place. The former is a natural, healthy process of hair transplantation, while the latter is right to spark some concern.
In successful surgeries, we do not expect to see the entire graft fall out. A skilled and experienced surgeon is versed in the secure placement of grafts, so ideally, grafts should be snugly in place. Sometimes, if the patient is not careful with their scalp following surgery, and bumps it or is rough with it, this can cause the grafts to fall out. This is why we urge the utmost caution after surgery, especially in traveling, sleeping, washing, and changing.
Because it is so hard for the untrained eye to tell the difference between normal graft shedding and grafts falling out, most times we are not able to determine the success of the surgery until 6 months – 1 year post-op. This is because hair grows in cycles, and it can take some time for the new hairs to adapt and fall into line. After 1 year, you will know for sure whether or not the grafts survived and were successful. While most patients are not happy to hear this timeline, it is the most effective way to determine success of hair transplantation.
If you’re concerned about the success of your surgery, and would like a second or third opinion, give us a call today.

What does your hair loss say about you?

Could your hair loss be saying something about you?
No, we don’t mean your style or looks, we’re talking about your health. Hair loss can be a telling factor for your health. It can be a symptom of an illness, a side effect of a medication, or even shed light on genetic causes.
This is why prior to recommending or starting any hair loss treatments, we always conduct a comprehensive consultation that goes over medical history, medications, and may include a biopsy or other diagnostic tool. By analyzing the hair loss prior to treating it, we ensure the patient is in good health, ruling out any serious underlying medical conditions. Sometimes, resolving hair loss can be as simple as changing a medication or starting one.
Once a cause for the hair loss is determined, we can begin treating it with confidence. Due to the various hair loss treatments available, we use the diagnosis to guide the patient to the most appropriate treatment option that has the highest likelihood of efficacy for their specific case. When it comes to treating hair loss, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all treatment.
For example, hair loss medications such as finasteride work great on individuals who have hair loss caused by DHT. Topical treatments such as minoxidil work great on those who just began losing hair.
Before you start any hair loss treatments, make sure to meet with your physician to rule out any underlying causes. Then, meet with a hair restoration specialist to discuss all of your options.

Case Study – FUE Receding Hairline Restoration Transplant

Patient presented with severe receded hairline hair loss, at just age 25. He began noticing the hairline receding at age 16 and noted his father and both grandfathers also have a receded hairline. The severity of his receding aged him and took a toll on his self confidence.

The patient’s hair goals were to restore the hairline with minimal scarring. Upon consultation and comprehensive evaluation, Dr. Yazdan and the patient decided on the FUE method of hair transplantation. FUE transplants produce minimal scarring and supply a sufficient amount of grafts for a hairline restoration procedure.

Hairline restoration cases like these can take anywhere from 500-2500 grafts depending on the severity of the hair loss and the goals of the patient. Dr. Yazdan worked with the patient to design a hairline that look natural, age-appropriate, and mimicked his hairline prior to the hair loss. Pictures show the patient immediately after the FUE hair transplant procedure. Approximately 1800 grafts were used for this procedure.

Should you see a doctor for your hair loss?

Most individuals see hair loss as a naturally occurring condition that many individuals experience. Additionally, many believe that there is nothing they can do about it except to accept their fate.
While hair loss is extremely common and occurs in many individuals due to genetics, medical conditions, or other influencing factors, it isn’t always naturally or normally occurring.
Many do not consider hair loss to be a medical condition, but in fact, it is. Hair loss can be caused by a variety of sources, including but not limited to, genetics, thyroid disease, hormone imbalances, and side effects of medications.
As a result, it can be beneficial to see a doctor if you’re experiencing hair loss. The doctor will be able to diagnose the hair loss (also known as alopecia) and order any lab diagnostics that may help determine the cause. Determining the cause can help rule out any underlying diseases and set you on the right track for treatment. For example, if you’re hair loss is caused by a medication, changing brands or adjusting doses may help resolve the hair loss.
In addition to determining a cause of hair loss, your doctor can help prescribe a treatment. Contrary to popular belief, hair loss isn’t something that you just have to live with. There are treatment options available that may help prevent and slow hair loss, such as finasteride, propecia, minoxidil, or biotin. While some of these medications are available over the counter, it’s always a good idea to get your physician’s opinion and approval before starting any new treatments.
If you don’t have a primary care doctor, or don’t feel comfortable seeing them for hair loss related issues, you can always schedule a consultation with a hair restoration doctor. Hair restoration doctors are physicians who specialize in hair loss. They can order labs, diagnose, and help you come up with a treatment plan. If you’re ready to find out what’s causing your hair loss and find a treatment, give us call today.

Hair shedding – what is normal and what should have you calling your doctor

Everyone experiences some degree of hair shedding. In general, hair shedding is considered normal. But what exactly is normal and what should have you calling your doctor?
According to experts, shedding anywhere from 1-100 hairs a day is in the normal range. That being said, 100 hairs may be a lot for one individual, while not a lot for another. What it really comes down to is what each individual’s ‘normal’ is.
If you normally shed 50 hairs a day, then all of a sudden seeing a spike in shedding of 100 hairs a day for a continued period of time, should be alarming. This is outside the normal range for you, at double the amount of shedding you typically see.
This could be a clear sign of something wrong. While it may be the result of a change in diet, habits, stress, or a new medication, it could be a sign of hair loss. Regardless of the cause, you should call your doctor and try to get to the bottom of it.
The benefit of detecting early hair-loss related causes, is stopping hair loss in its tracks. It is much easier to stop hair loss from progressing when you catch it early on, than to resolve it later on. This is because once a hair follicle dies, it is gone forever. If you can catch a hair follicle before it dies, you have a chance to keep that hair.
If you are experiencing hair shedding that is outside the normal range for you, give your doctor a call. This shedding may lead to hair loss that you can stop before it progresses. If you’d rather meet with a hair loss specialist to evaluate the causes and your options, give us a call today.

The benefits of dry shampoo

Have you heard about dry shampoo? Dry shampoo is a hair-care product that allows you to stretch the time in between hair washing sessions.
How does it work?
Dry shampoo works by absorbing excess oils in your hair. It comes in the form of power or sprays which utilize brand-specific oil-absorbing, cleansing components. It essentially ‘washes’ your hair without any water, hence the name ‘dry shampoo.’
Why is this helpful?
Too much washing contributes to dryness and dullness in your hair. This is because washing hair strips the hair of its natural oils which add the much-needed shine and nutrients your hair craves.
Many factors play a role in how often you should wash your hair, such as sweat, curliness, fineness, and genetics, which determine how much oil your hair secretes and how fast it travels down your hair shaft. Experts suggest washing your hair no more than 3-4 times per week, less if you’re able.
Added benefits
In addition to allowing you to lower the amount of times you need to wash your hair per week, dry shampoo is a great styling product.
Dry shampoo adds texture to your hair, making it easier to style and set your look. Additionally, it adds volume, allowing you to achieve the looks you desire.
Dry shampoo comes in two main forms: the powder and the spray. The powders work great at absorbing oils. The sprays work great at adding volume and setting styles, while also drying out areas that over-saturated with oil.
These products typically contain vitamins and nutrients that are beneficial to your hair. And an added bonus – they smell nice too. Dry shampoo is a smart hair washing and styling alternative, that saves you time and money. Try it out today and let us know how it works for you!

I received a hair transplant a few years ago and now my hair’s falling out again. What’s going on?

Hair falling out just a few years after hair transplant surgery
Unfortunately, this is a situation we see many of our patients in who come to us from other practices. There are many factors that determine the success of your hair transplant both immediately after and later on in the years to come. If any one factor during the hair transplant process is not done correctly, the success of your entire hair transplant is at risk.
The first step in evaluating the cause of hair loss after hair transplant surgery, is to determine if it is the transplanted hairs or native hairs that are falling out. In successful hair transplants, we do not expect to see transplanted hairs falling out. This is because these hairs are not subject to the same hair loss the native hairs are, since they are originally from a healthy donor area.
If it is the transplanted hairs falling out, this is a sign that something went wrong with your hair transplant surgery. Scarring, trauma, and low-graft survival rate are risks of hair transplants done by robotic tools, inexperienced surgeons, and surgeons over-transplanting in mega-sessions all cause hair loss that may be permanent. If this is the case, a restorative hair transplant may be needed to resolve the issues.
More often than not, hair loss experienced after hair transplantation is the surrounding native hairs falling out. While hair transplants are a wonderful solution to resolving the appearance of baldness and thinning, they are not a cure for baldness. In other words, hair transplants will not stop further baldness from happening. This is why we stress the importance of medically managing hair loss via medications such as minoxidil and finasteride especially after hair transplantation. These topical or oral medications can help slow hair loss progression as you age, buying you more time before another hair transplant may be needed.
If you’d like to get a second or third opinion on the results of your hair transplant, give us a call for a consultation today.

How important is a heat protectant product when styling hair?

Are you using a heat protectant before styling your hair with hot tools? If not, you may be damaging your hair.
Hot styling tools are known to cause damage and breakage to your hair. Despite this fact, we continue using hot styling tools such as blow dryers and straighteners to style our hair. This is likely due to the efficacy, ease, and quickness of hot styling tools. While there are some alternative methods to styling hair without heat, they often require more time and a less polished look.
Thankfully, there is a way you can style your hair with hot styling tools and cause less damage. Less damage means healthier, shinier, stronger, and more beautiful hair.
So what’s the secret? Heat protectant products.
Heat protectant products are hair-care products that are applied before styling your hair with hot tools. They are often used on damp hair, before blow-drying or using curling irons, straighteners, or any other heat styling tools. These products can come in the form of a spray, serum, or mousse.
How do they work?
Heat protectant products act as a protective barrier between your hair and the heat imposed by styling tools. This protective shield prevents the heat from permeating the hair strand and damaging the fragile follicle.
While heat protectant products may not eliminate heat damage completely, they can greatly reduce the effects. Besides keeping your hair healthy and less damaged, the products are often infused with vitamins and oils which improve the texture and appearance of your hair.
Next time you style your hair, consider using a heat protectant product first.

Suffer from scalp psoriasis? Try coal tar.

Do you suffer from scalp psoriasis?
Scalp psoriasis is a type of psoriasis (skin condition causes by a buildup of dead skin cells) that effects the scalp. It is often concealed under the hair, but can cause a multitude of problems to those who suffer from the condition.
Scalp psoriasis is similar to traditional psoriasis in its symptoms: itchy, flaky scales, redness, irritation, and if left untreated, hair loss. Psoriasis scales can be quite unsightly and uncomfortable.
Thankfully, there are options for those afflicted by the condition.
Steroidal medication is a proven prescription method in treating psoriasis. It can be taken in the form of a pill or ointment. The downside to this treatment method is that in order to remain effective over time, the treatment must be stopped after a certain amount of time (usually 2 weeks) whether or not the symptoms have subsided.
Salicylic acid is another proven course of treatment, specifically for those who suffer from scalp psoriasis. It is often an added component to psoriasis shampoos, and works to counteract the psoriasis. Unfortunately, this treatment isn’t effective for everyone.
Coal tar is a less common but extremely effective treatment for psoriasis, especially when it occurs on the scalp. Coal tar can be added to ointments or shampoos and is found at pharmacies. The coal tar works to neutralize the psoriasis, preventing the buildup of skin cells that creates the itchy and annoying scales.
If you suffer from scalp psoriasis and haven’t had success with steroidal or salicylic acid treatments, give coal tar a try. It’s safe and effective, and may be the key to treating your psoriasis.

Baldness: what do your hair genetics say about you?

Our hair dictates a major portion of our appearance. No hair, full head of hair, thinning hair, curly hair, straight hair, dark hair, light hair – hair can change your look completely.
But can your hair change more about you than just your appearance? Like say, how you’re perceived by others? According to some new studies out of the University of Pennsylvania, it can.
These new studies researched the connection between the presence or absence of hair and how dominant individuals were perceived to be. Across the board, both men and women consistently rated bald men as more dominant than their hairier counterparts. Even going as far to perceive the men as stronger and taller.
Sound to be good to true? The same men and women who rated the bald men more dominant, taller, and stronger, also rater the bald men as less-attractive and older-looking overall. Darn. It seems balding men just can’t catch a break.
So, what have we learned? The presence or absence of hair greatly effects your appearance. It also effects how dominant and attractive others perceive you to be.
The take home? Ultimately, dominance and attractiveness are about being comfortable in one’s own skin. There are plenty of dominant full-haired men as well as plenty of attractive bald men. It’s all about your confidence.
If your baldness if weighing down on your confidence and self-esteem, you may want to consider your options. There are surgical and non-surgical options for restoring your hair and bringing back your confidence.

Should you be concerned with complications from hair transplant surgery?

Hair transplants are a common medical procedure sought out by those seeking an aesthetic improvement to their balding hair.
In a hair transplant surgery, your own natural hair is transplanted from a place of fullness to a place of balding. Hair transplants are a great tool for those who are seeking a natural-looking solution to balding and hair loss.
In general, hair transplants are safe and effective. But like any medical procedure there are possible risks and complications.
In hair transplant procedures, possible complications include infection, bruising, swelling, scarring, scabbing, inflammation, and hair loss.
How common are these complications and when you should you be concerned with them?
Anytime you’re undergoing a medical procedure you should always make yourself informed of the risks and possible complications. This is good practice as a patient and will help you make informed decisions.
The occurrence of these complications in hair transplants depends on a few key factors: experience of the hair transplant surgeon, location of the surgery, and good aftercare by the patient.
Surgeon experience
The risk of complications such as scarring, infection, bruising, and hair loss can be greatly reduced if a skilled and experienced hair transplant surgeon is conducting the procedure. There are modern techniques and tools which minimize potential risks.
Location of the procedure
There is a trend among those seeking cosmetic procedures to go abroad for their surgeries in an effort to save money. This trend is dangerous and can have unfortunate consequences. The risk of all complications of hair transplantation increase dramatically when you leave the US to get the surgery done. This is because medical doctors in other countries such as Turkey (a popular hair transplant destination) are not held to the same high standard doctors are in the US. A large majority of patients who seek restorative hair transplants are victim of foreign botched hair transplants. We see a high rate of shock hair loss, scarring, and infection, all of which can have permanent, irreversible repercussions.
Patient aftercare
It is very important to follow your doctor’s aftercare instructions. Keeping the areas clean, avoiding certain medications, incorporating ice, and taking it easy so your body can heal all play a role in post-hair transplant complications.

An easy guide to dressing stylish

Men, it can be hard to dress stylish. Trends are always changing, finding the perfect fit can seem an impossible task, and prices seem to go up every season.
Dressing with style gives off the impression you’ve got it together (whether that’s true or not is beside the point). It’s not about copying anyone else, it’s about finding what works for you, what’s flattering, and what fits your budget.
Let us make it easy for you! We’ve compiled a list of tips on how to dress stylish, easily, and budget friendly. Seriously, you won’t be able to mess up these looks up and they’ll transcend the seasons!
The white button up
You can’t go wrong with this staple. Find a couple white buttoned shirts that fit your shape well and comfortably. For men who prefer a fitted shape, you’ll want to look for a ‘slim’ fit. Then, make this shirt your best friend. You can pair it with slacks for a business casual look, khakis for a day out, or jeans for a casual look. The white button up is the easiest, most versatile, and most affordable style tool in your closet. Use it!
Ditch the graphic tees
Your graphic tees are aging you (in the wrong direction). While graphic tees may be ‘cool,’ ‘witty,’ or ‘reminiscent,’ they aren’t doing your any favors in the maturity arena. If they’ve got sentimental anchors, keep them for sleep or work out tees.
Neutral colors are smooth
While bright colors will definitely make you stand out, it may not be in the positive light you’d hoped. Neutral colors are much more pleasing to the eye. This goes for jeans as well as tops. Acid wash or other artificial washes often give off the impression you’re trying too hard. Keep it cool with a neutral, darker-wash jean. You can’t go wrong with a good pair of Levi’s.

Forehead reduction surgery vs. hair transplant surgery

We all have something that negatively effects our self-esteem and causes us to feel self-conscious. For some, hair loss, scars, a large nose, or a large forehead may be the source of blame.
Cosmetic surgery has sought to resolve some of these sources of self-consciousness. Hair transplants can eliminate baldness, lasers can lighten scars, rhinoplasty can fix your nose, and forehead reduction surgery can make your forehead smaller.
Unfortunately, some of these procedures are not without their complications. We are often asked what the best course of treatment is for a large forehead or a set back hairline. The answer is best determined by not only determining the cause of the enlarged forehead, but also weighing the pros and cons of the treatment options.
More often than not, when people are referring to the size of their forehead, they also mention their hairline. They often say that their forehead has gotten larger over the years, and that their hairline used to be more forward. This is not a case of a naturally large forehead, rather it’s a case of receding hairline hair loss. If you have a receding hairline, and are looking to restore your forehead and hairline to more natural and youthful proportions, you should be looking at hair transplant surgery over forehead reduction surgery.
If you have had a naturally large forehead or naturally set back hairline your entire life, you can still look into hair transplant surgery as a solution. Just because your genetics have programmed your hairline to start farther back, does not mean it must remain that way forever. Hair transplants can be a great tool in allowing people to achieve a more youthful hairline, even if they never had one to begin with.
If you are not a candidate for hair transplant in either scenario, and find yourself looking into forehead reduction surgery as an alternative option, we urge caution. Forehead reduction surgeries are often plagued with complications such as visible scarring and nerve damage which cannot be reversed. As with any cosmetic procedure, make sure to ask your provider lots of questions and request before and after photos to evaluate realistic results.

Genius tips for perfecting curly hair

A day in the life of a curly-haired individual is far from easy. Anyone with curly hair can testify first-hand to the struggle that is good hair days and bad hair days.
Luckily, there’s things you can do to help create more good hair days and wean out those bad ones. These tips are tried and tested and will help you create wavy, curly, shiny, strong hair.
Start from the bottom. Always start combing hair from the bottom up. This will allow you to gently detangle hair, preventing breakage and damage caused by yanking and pulling on hair (NOT good for curls!).
Regular trims are key. Getting regular trims removes split or dead ends which improves the look and health of your hair. Your hair will not only grow longer, it will be less frizzy, and more bouncy (i.e., every curly-haired person’s dream concoction!).
Mix and match your hair products. When you have complex hair you need a complex haircare regimen. Rather than trying to find one product to meet all your needs (probably impossible), mix and match products to create your perfect haircare cocktail. For example, use part serum and part mousse when prepping and styling hair. The serum will smooth while the mousse texturizes.
Use a wide-tooth comb to tame your locks. Brushes are not a curly-hair wearer’s friend. Curls are fragile and brushes disrupt your locks, potentially causing breakage. Stay safe and friendly with a wide-tooth comb. This will protect the natural curl and bounce of your hair.
Not sure what product is best for you? Serums are always a safe bet for curly hair. They’re lightweight, smoothing, and add definition. When using serum, use a few pumps at a time, and run evenly through your curls.
