FUT Hairline and Crown Restoration – Case Study

Our patient travelled to us from the state of New Mexico sharing that he had done a lot of research on a hair transplant surgery, and wanted to meet with Dr. Amir Yazdan to receive an unbiased surgical recommendation.

Being that Dr. Yazdan regularly performs both FUE and FUT/Strip surgeries he discussed both options with this patient and went over the pros and cons of each hair transplant surgery method.  Ultimately the patient decided to move forward with the FUT/Strip procedure. This method allows Dr. Yazdan to harvest more grafts in one sitting which meant we could address both the patients empty crown area as well as his hairline.

Almost a year later our patient has returned to share his life changing results.

To find out which method is best for you schedule a free surgical consultation with Dr. Yazdan at Modena Hair Institute by emailing info@modenahair.com or call (949) 374-2563

Hairline and Frontal Zone Hair Restoration – Case Study

This patient came to our office here at Modena Hair Institute in Newport Beach, California stating he was not necessarily unhappy with his hairline, but was interested in finding out how it could be better and most importantly, keep it from getting worse.

After conducting a full medical management consultation with this patient which involves discussing topical solutions, shampoos, medications, and hair loss treatments such as PRP. Dr. Yazdan then explained the hair transplant process. Being that this patient’s hair loss was localized to just the front of his hair an FUE hair transplant was performed with 2,448 grafts extracted by hand by Dr. Yazdan and his team.

1 year later his results show a great improvement in overall density and fullness as well as a restored and rejuvenated hairline. By also following a medical management protocol in combination with the transplant our patient was able to maximize his results and make his existing hair stronger and healthier.

The Benefits of Early Intervention in Hair Loss

Hair loss is a common concern for many individuals, affecting both men and women. While it is often considered a natural part of aging, the emotional and psychological impact of hair loss can be significant. Addressing hair loss early can make a substantial difference in managing and even reversing the condition. Early intervention not only slows down the progression of hair loss but also enhances the effectiveness of treatment options.

The benefits of early intervention include slowing down hair loss progression, it may be recommended to  start using topical solutions along with considering prescription medications such as finasteride (Propecia). Another benefit to early intervention is that it may increase the effectiveness of treatments. Hair follicles in the early stages of thinning are more responsive to treatments, increasing the chances of regrowth and thickening of existing hair.  This can include topical solutions as well as treatments such as PRP therapy and laser therapy offered by Dr. Amir Yazdan at Modena Hair Institute. Lastly, addressing hair loss early can provide more treatment options. Individuals who seek treatment early have a broader range of options available to them. Non-surgical treatments are more effective in the early stages. For those considering hair transplants, early intervention ensures that there are sufficient donor hairs available for transplantation and helps preserve more native hair to optimize the results of a surgery.

Early intervention strategies include consulting with a hair loss professional, medications, nonsurgical treatments, and possibly a hair transplant surgery. A hair loss provider such as Dr.  Amir Yazdan of Modena Hair Institute can diagnose the cause of hair loss and recommend appropriate treatments. He offers a full medical management consultation where he will discuss all available options. FDA-approved medications like minoxidil and finasteride can be effective in slowing hair loss and promoting regrowth. These should be used under medical supervision. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, low-level laser therapy (LLLT), and microneedling are non-surgical options that can stimulate hair growth and improve scalp health. For those with significant hair loss, hair transplant surgery can be a viable option, come in to see Dr. Yazdan in Newport Beach, for a surgical consultation to find out which method is best for you.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to our offices  at (949) 374-2563 if you’re feeling anxious or unsure about your hair loss. Dr. Yazdan is more than happy to offer guidance, and recommend safe and effective treatments.

Case Study – Hair Transplant Surgery for Senior Patient

Have you ever wondered if you are too old for a hair transplant? Our golden aged patient wondered the same thing and decided to visit Dr. Amir Yazdan to find out! During his consultation appointment here at Modena Hair Institute this patient expressed that he just wanted to have hair for whatever time he has left.  After a comprehensive assessment it was decided that the best course for this patient was to move forward with a FUT/Strip and FUE combination surgery.

Dr. Yazdan first removed the Strip amount to 3,214 grafts then proceeded by harvesting around 1,218 grafts via FUE method. When harvesting using both methods it is possible to safely extract a large number of grafts in one sitting while not over compromising the donor area.

6 months later our patient returned extremely pleased with his early results and growth. He feels like a new version of himself and expressed that he wished he did this procedure sooner. He was elated to hear that his hair was only going to continue to grown and look better. We would generally say that it is never too late to get the hair of your dreams, even if it is a little later in life.

Celebrity Hair Transplant Gone Wrong – Justin Bieber

Everyone is talking about Justin Bieber’s new look, could it be the results of a hair transplant procedure? That is what we all suspect, and to the common person it may seem like it was done well. Let’s take a look at the transformation .

As you can see Bieber has a new an improved fuller and much to straight hairline. Additionally, the hairline looks unnatural and plug like which is most likely from multiple hair grafts being placed incorrectly.  When reconstructing a hairline single hair grafts should be used in the very front to keep the authenticity of his original hairline. Unfortunately for Bieber he has multiple issues from this first procedure and we are not sure he is even aware.

Learn from this very public mistake, Dr. Amir Yazdan here at Modena Hair institute practices a more conservative approach for a hair transplant procedure. He prefers to keep the patient’s original hairline as a guide rather than completely changing the way the patient looks. This produces natural and age appropriate results for our patients. Remember that the transplanted grafts are permanent. Bieber will be stuck with this insanely straight and low hairline for pretty much the rest of his life. Imagine being 50-60 years old with that hairline. Also consider the possibility of him losing some of the hair behind his new hairline, then what?

When considering a hair transplant take the time to do some meaningful research. Ask the right questions, see reputable surgeons who specialize only in hair, pay attention to whether they perform both procedures, and lastly review the information and use common sense.

Take a look at an in depth assessment with Dr. Yazdan himself here:

Case Study – Correcting Pluggy Female Hairline with FUT

Our lovely patient came to us for a corrective hair transplant procedure. Though her hair looked great at first glance, underneath her bangs she revealed a hairline that was too low, pluggy looking due to multiple hair grafts, and she had noticeable pitting and cobble stoning.  Unfortunately, this was the result of not one but two botched FUT procedures done by past clinics.

After a consultation with Dr. Amir Yazdan an extensive plan was put together to correct her hairline. Because punching out the grafts in the hairline could leave noticeable scarring,  Dr. Yazdan instead recommended a series of laser hair removal treatments to remove the follicles that had been implanted to make her hairline far too low. Dr. Yazdan and his team then proceeded with a corrective FUT procedure. They dissected single hair grafts to mask the cobblestoning and pitting, while also softening the hairline to yield a more feminine and natural appearance.

Watch the surgery day below, and check back in 6-12 months to see her new and improved hairline that she no longer will need to disguise with a certain hair style!

Do these things really cause hair loss or does everyone just say they do?

Millions of individuals worldwide are concerned about hair loss. There are many myths and misconceptions concerning the causes of hair loss and treatment options, despite its widespread occurrence. To clear the air, we’ll dispel some of the most widespread misunderstandings about hair loss today and offer reliable scientific sources.

Myth 1: Wearing a hat causes hair loss – A common misconception is that wearing hats or caps all the time might lead to hair loss by preventing blood flow to the scalp or causing hair to fall out. Still, this is untrue.

Myth Debunked– The bloodstream carries nutrients to the hair follicles, therefore wearing a hat has no discernible impact on blood flow to the scalp. Furthermore, wearing hats is not the primary cause of hair loss; rather, it is mostly caused by hormonal changes, genetic factors, and certain medical problems.

Myth 2: Frequent shampooing causes hair loss – It’s a common misconception that frequent hair washing causes hair loss. This myth probably started because after washing their hair, people noticed more hairs in the shower drain.

Myth Debunked– It is typical to lose between fifty and one hundred hairs every day as hair shedding is a regular element of the hair growth cycle. Washing your hair does not slow down the pace of hair loss generally; rather, it keeps the scalp healthy and clean. It’s only hair that was about to fall out that you see in the shower. When you wash your hair with the right products like gromd shampoo then washing daily is preferred since it is like medicine for the scalp.

Myth 3: Hair loss comes from your mother’s side of the family only- Contrary to popular belief, hair loss is not a trait that is only passed down from mothers. The truth is that either parent can pass on genetic hair loss.

Myth Debunked– Many genes that can be inherited from both the mother’s and father’s sides affect hair loss. An individual’s risk of hair loss is determined by the interaction of several hereditary factors from both parents. One of the best treatments to combat genetic hair loss is PRP with Acell.  Dr. Yazdan performs this treatment regularly for patients with great success.

Most of what your hear regarding hair loss may not be accurate. If you are concerned about your hair it is important to reach out to a hair specialist such as Dr. Amir Yazdan here at Modena Hair Institute to get accurate information. Advanced Hair loss addressed with a FUE FUT Combo Hair Transplant Surgery

Our patient travelled to us Modena Hair Institute  here in Newport Beach  from the midwest with advanced hair loss in both his hairline and front as well as his crown and is under 35 years old. After a consultation with Dr. Amir Yazdan it was decided that the best approach for this patient would be to perform a combination FUE and FUT hair transplant surgery to yield the best results for this patient.

By performing this combination procedure Dr. Yazdan was able to safely harvest 4,218 grafts in total. This allowed Dr. Yazdan to recreate the patient’s hairline and greatly improve the density in the frontal zone as well as adding coverage to the patient’s crown area in one sitting.  Here we share is 6 months results, while noting that he is only experiencing about half the growth of the transplanted follicles. Over the next 6-12 months his hair will continue to improve in density.

While candidates are generally recommended one method over the other there are certain patients who are great candidates for either surgery or even both. It is crucial for prospective patients to always do their research and seek how surgeons who focus solely on hair, and perform both FUE and FUT procedures to receive an unbiased opinion on what is truly the best for the patient.

If you’d like to hear more about Strip and FUE combination options and benefits- please feel free to call one of our conveniently located offices in Newport Beach, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas 1-888-717-5273

FUT/Strip Scar Repair – Case Study

Our patient came to us expressing that he was unhappy with the results of a previous Strip/FUT procedure done at another clinic. Not only did he get less than satisfying results from the transplant, he also was left with a scar that was visible because he wore his hair on the shorter side. He expressed he was told from the previous clinic that the scar would not be very noticeable no matter at what length he chose to wear his hair.  Here at Modena Hair Institute we advise patients who are considering the Strip/FUT method that their hair should be kept at a 3 clip or longer for the scar to not be noticeable.

To help improve the appearance of this scar Dr. Amir Yazdan recommended using a combination or scalp and beard hair as donor areas to improve the appearance of the scar while also adding density and correcting his hairline.  After 1.5 years from his scar repair surgery our patient can now wear his hair at his preferred length and hairstyle with his previous scar being hidden. While many patients worry that beard hair won’t blend in with scalp hair you can see from the photo that the different types of hair blend seamlessly.

It is worth noting that scar tissue is not necessarily healthy tissue due to a decrease in vasculature or blood supply. Transplanting into scar tissue can help promote vascularity which improves the tissue and makes it more viable.  After assessing this patient’s full results he shared that his scar was less red and raised which is a common benefit we see at our clinic after a scar repair procedure by Dr. Yazdan.

Coping with Postpartum Hair Loss

Bringing a new life into the world is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful experiences a woman can have. However, amidst the joy of motherhood, many new mothers find themselves facing an unexpected challenge: postpartum hair loss. If you’re experiencing this, you’re not alone. Postpartum hair loss, also known as postpartum alopecia, affects a significant number of women after childbirth. Here at Modena Hair Institute we help many new mothers to combat the loss.

Postpartum hair loss typically occurs around three to six months after giving birth. During pregnancy, hormonal changes prolong the hair growth phase, resulting in thicker, fuller hair. However, once your baby arrives, hormone levels plummet, causing the hair to shed as it returns to its normal growth cycle. This shedding phase can be alarming, with clumps of hair seemingly falling out. Dr. Amir Yazdan highly recommends starting his protocol of PRP with Acell treatments which helps reduce shedding and rejuvenate the hair follicles.  Another way to cope with postpartum hair loss is to opt for a nourishing, sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to promote healthy hair growth such as groMD shampoo which is filled with active ingredients to fight hair loss.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to our offices  at (949) 374-2563 if you’re feeling anxious or unsure about your postpartum hair loss. Dr. Yazdan is more than happy to offer guidance, and recommend safe and effective treatments.

Case Study-44 yr. old Male Botched Turkey Hair Transplant Repair by Dr. Yazdan

Diagnosis: Corrective FUE Transplant – Age: 44– Follicles: 2, 093 – Sex: Male

One year following a disappointing FUE procedure in Turkey, a patient sought Dr. Yazdan’s  expertise for a repair surgery. His initial experience abroad left him with noticeable scarring, minimal results, and a distressing scalp infection that exacerbated hair loss.

Upon thorough assessment, Dr. Yazdan recommended a comprehensive approach, combining corrective FUE surgery with PRP treatments. Three months into the treatment regimen, promising signs of new growth have begun to emerge, with further improvements anticipated.

This case underscores the importance of informed decision-making in hair transplant journeys. While the allure of cost-effective procedures abroad may be tempting, the risks can outweigh the benefits. Our patient’s experience serves as a cautionary tale, highlighting potential complications such as inadequate sanitization standards and limited post-operative support when seeking treatment overseas.

At Modena Hair Institute, we prioritize quality and patient safety above all else. We advocate for choosing reputable clinics and experienced professionals to ensure optimal outcomes. Understanding Alopecia Areata

Alopecia areata is a common autoimmune condition that affects millions of individuals worldwide, causing unpredictable hair loss in small, round patches on the scalp or other areas of the body. While alopecia areata is not life-threatening, it can have a significant impact on self-esteem and quality of life. In this post, we’ll explore the key aspects of alopecia areata, including its causes, symptoms, and available treatment options, to help individuals better understand and manage this condition. Our Offices and Dr. Yazdan specialize in treating patients who suffer from Alopecia Areata and similar auto immune diseases using advanced protocols developed by world renown hair restoration surgeon Dr. Yazdan.

Alopecia areata occurs when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the hair follicles, leading to inflammation and hair loss. The exact cause of this autoimmune response is not fully understood, but genetic factors, environmental triggers, and immune system dysfunction are believed to play a role. Individuals with a family history of autoimmune conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis or type 1 diabetes, may have an increased risk of developing alopecia areata.

The hallmark symptom of alopecia areata is the sudden onset of round or oval-shaped bald patches on the scalp, typically measuring a few centimeters in diameter. These patches may appear overnight or gradually over a period of weeks to months. In some cases, hair loss may also occur on other areas of the body, such as the eyebrows, eyelashes, or beard. While the affected skin is usually smooth and without any other signs of inflammation, some individuals may experience itching, tingling, or discomfort in the affected areas.

While there is no cure for alopecia areata, several treatment options are available to help manage symptoms and promote hair regrowth. The choice of treatment depends on the severity of the condition and individual preferences. Common treatment options for alopecia areata include:

Corticosteroid Injections: Corticosteroid injections are often the first-line treatment for alopecia areata, as they can help suppress inflammation and stimulate hair regrowth in affected areas. These injections are typically administered directly into the bald patches Dr. Yazdan has a full treatment protocol  for individuals suffering from alopecia areata which includes steroid injections and should be performed immediately.  Local patients can always contact our Newport Beach or Las Vegas locations for treatments.

Topical Corticosteroids: Topical corticosteroid creams or ointments may be prescribed to reduce inflammation and promote hair regrowth in mild cases of alopecia areata. These medications are applied directly to the affected skin and may be used in combination with other treatments for optimal results.

Alopecia areata is a complex autoimmune condition that can present unique challenges for individuals experiencing hair loss. While there is currently no cure for alopecia areata, various treatment options are available to help manage symptoms and promote hair regrowth Such as PRP treatments with ACell offered by Dr. Yazdan at Modena Hair Institute in Newport Beach.

Case Study-38 yr. old Male Hair Transplant FUE using Beard Hair

Diagnosis: FUE Transplant – Age: 38 – Follicles: 2,113 – Sex: Male

Our patient visited our office after undergoing two previous FUE procedures with other clinics. Despite feeling that the results from both surgeries were merely satisfactory, he expressed a desire for increased coverage across his scalp. However, due to limitations in his donor zone resulting from the previous surgeries, Dr. Yazdan determined that the optimal solution was to harvest grafts from both the scalp and beard to achieve the best outcome for this patient. Understandably, our patient experienced some nervousness about grafts being harvested from his facial area and had concerns regarding the appearance of the beard and scalp hair blend.

During his 6-month follow-up appointment, he shared his progress and expressed his satisfaction with the early results. He experienced no scarring from the harvesting of his beard, thanks to Dr. Yazdan’s technique, and the integration of beard and scalp hair was seamless.

We eagerly anticipate observing his progress at the one-year mark.

A body hair transplant should only be recommended for unique cases such as so, it should never be offered to patient’s who are preparing to undergo their first procedure.  A body hair transplant is an advanced surgery that should be performed by a highly reputable an experienced hair transplant surgeon.  If you have any further questions regarding a hair transplant procedure contact our front office at (949) 374-2563.

40 yr. old Male Crown Hair Transplant FUE

Diagnosis: FUE Transplant – Age: 42 – Follicles: 2,359 – Sex: Male

Our patient traveled to us from Hawaii looking to add more density into his crown.  He wanted to do an FUE surgery because there are times where he wears his hair short in the back and did not want to have a Strip/FUT scar. After consultation with Dr. Yazdan, it was decided that the FUE method was best in this case and thus we proceeded to do a complete crown restoration.  During the procedure, a total of 2,359 FUE grafts were transplanted.  Medical management was also discussed with the patient and he was able to return home the next day.  Below are his final results.  You can see a very natural density with proper angulation.  The patients donor zone was also intact and he is able to have repeat FUE procedures in the future.  This is a life changing transformation and we are happy we were part of the journey.

How will my new hairline look?

‘How will my new hairline look?’ is one of the most important questions patients ask us when they begin our consultation. ‘Will it look rounded, symmetrical, asymmetrical, more defined or less defined?’ It is a deep desire to want to know how the cosmetic procedure will look finished before it starts. People have a strong opinion and idea of how they want their new hair to look and move.

The truth of the matter is there is no one size fits all hairline that Dr. Yazdan, or any top hair transplant surgeon for that matter, tries to create. What looks good for one patient may not look good for another – what makes sense for a young patient with progressive loss may not make sense for an older patient with more ‘stable’ and limited hair loss. In other words, hairlines must be carefully considered and customized for each patient.

A close examination of the direction, sway, swirl and grouping of a patient’s hair will tell us how most naturally to design the new hairline. Let’s look at a few case studies which show the quite different, but equally successful, ways in which hair restoration manages to rejuvenate a person’s hairline. All examples are done by the careful and skillful hand of Dr. Yazdan himself.

For this patient, who likes to wear his hair short and based on his age, level of hair loss, hair-type and forehead shape, we decided to design a flatter, more defined, less irregular hairline. Dr. Yazdan use a very calibrated small punch during the FUE procedure to minimize scarring and maximize a natural look.

For this older patient, with lots of wispy strands and excessive hair loss who wears his hair longer, Dr. Yazdan decided to design a slightly more conservative, soft, broken-up, irregular, and feathered hairline. Patient had arrived at Modena Hair Institute more than a year ago with a poorly performed punch surgery and lots of scarring. He had also received scalp micro pigmentation work which turned blue. A notorious problem among inexperience or purely cosmetic clinics, SMP pigments can turn blue if it is too dark and the wrong pigments are used.

Conclusion

As you can see, these patients were about as different in hair type, age, density and shape as you can get. The first patient had coarser, darker, denser and a more limited hair loss experience. The second patient had softer, wispier hair and a greater degree of hair loss. Designing a hairline shape for both patients requires a very different aesthetic and scientific approach.

Patients must visit clinics who are able to showcase a wide variety of hairlines, not a ‘stock’ hairline done time and time again on each patient. The hair transplant doctor must take your entire history and shape into account, digest the information, and create a plan that fits you and you alone. If you do this, your hairline will look like one thing and one thing alone: a natural hairline which fits you.

When considering clinics, make sure to ask the doctor what they plan to do for your hairline specifically, why they recommend this approach, and to see examples of other, similar hairlines. Otherwise, you may end up in a situation where you are asking a second doctor what your hairline should have looked like, and whether or not they can make it look like this with a second procedure.

What an Expert Hair Transplant Diagnosis Looks Like

prp therapy orange countyThe difference between top tier and average clinics starts right at the beginning with the hair loss consultation and diagnosis. At Modena Hair Institute, we’ve invested major financial resources in purchasing and developing magnetic resonance imaging and other tools in order to evaluate the precise anatomical conditions of the scalp.

A very important aspect of the scalp analyses which Dr. Yazdan begins with is the thinning of the caliber of each individual hair strand. Dr. Yazdan determines whether hair miniaturization is slight, moderate or extensive. Particularly in early stages of hair loss, the appearance of balding is due to the progressive decrease in hair shaft size caused by the miniaturizing effects of DHT, rather than the actual loss of hair. Dr. Yazdan will determine if this is the case.

The typical number of hairs in a human scalp is around 100-120 hair per centimeter square. When hair thinning begins to take place, the number of strands decreases and the hair shafts become thinner and smaller.  At Modena Hair Institute, we use a digital densitometer to accurately measure the hair count in one centimeter square of your scalp. A densitometer is a handheld device that delivers digital, magnified images of your hair displayed on an LCD screen, revealing the properties and the diameter of your hair shaft.

This analysis will reveal abnormal levels of miniaturization, which are decreased hair shaft diameters due to DHT, the hormone that plays a primary role in the development of female or male hair pattern baldness. The digital analysis also gives a clear assessment of your donor hair supply, helping us to determine if you are a good candidate for a hair transplantation procedure.

Moreover, any illnesses you suffer or medications you are taking will also give us clues as to the causes of your hair loss. We also need to know about your diet and if you are receiving the necessary nutrients for your hair health. All the information we gather from your hair loss history will help us determine the causes of your hair loss along with treatment options. In addition to taking your history, we will conduct several tests, including digital analysis of your hair to gain more insights into your hair loss.

Restoring Crown Hair Requires a Highly Skilled Surgeon

hair transplant case studyWould you treat heart surgery with the same methods you would kidney surgery? Would you treat joint pain with the same methods you treat back pain? Certainly not. In the exact same specialized way, believe it or not, restoring hair on the crown requires a different surgical approach to temple or other hair restoration.

A highly skilled surgeon must take a vastly different approach in restoring follicular density to crown hair than to hair on the front temple or sides.

Unlike the rest of the scalp, hair grows in a circular pattern in the crown, commonly referred to as the whirl or swirl. Many average doctors can transplant hair, but finely and sensitively creating incisions in order for hair to appear both dense and natural is an art form that only a handful of outstanding surgeons possess.

The hair transplant surgeon must create tiny incisions placed strategically at varying angles that mimic the natural whorl. Only a specialist – not a technician or general cosmetic surgeon – can achieve masterful results.

Simply creating random incisions, even if they are placed closely together, might grow hair, but it often may not look natural, can result in styling restrictions and is often blatantly clear to observers that those sprouting and uneven hairs are not your natural hairs.

Moreover, implanting the actual follicular units into the incisions aesthetically and precisely can be challenging. A surgeon without the requisite specialty and experience may inadvertently damage the grafts or harm the surrounding ones in the implantation process.

No matter where on the scalp the hair is placed, the hair transplant growth chart is essentially the same. It is said that hair placed in crown might take a little longer to grow, it typically takes a full year and, in some cases, up to 18 months for the hair to fully mature.

After a crown procedure, the recipient area will take about a week or two to appear well healed. Four to six weeks later, most if not all of the transplanted hair in the crown will shed in most cases. After about three to four months, tiny hairs lacking full pigment will begin to sprout although they won’t all grow at the same time.

Small Punch FUE – 40yr Old Male

A new entry has just been added to Modena’s male hair loss success stories!

Diagnosis: FUE transplant – Age: 40 – Sex: Male

For this patient, we did a complete frontal zone and hairline reconstruction.

The patient wears his hair short so it was essential Dr. Yazdan use a very calibrated small punch during the FUE procedure to minimize scarring and maximize a natural look.

Check out our internet famous article on why punch size matters here.

Some doctors will tell you they prefer to use a larger punch in order to have room to extract 3-4 hairs, but more than likely, they simply don’t have the experience and skill it requires to extract the follicles containing multiple hairs using a smaller tool. “This isn’t something a hair surgeon can learn overnight, it takes years to perfect the artistic ability and scientific technique” Dr. Yazdan emphasizes.
